Travelers, Start Your Reviews

Whenever I stay at a hotel with my wife and kids (4 and 2), I always check out hotel information and reviews to make sure there’s a pool, the rooms are clean and it’s in a good part of town.  It’s even more important when we go on a longer vacation to always peruse the user reviews.

It's been a staple of my leisure travel experience, and a lot of us at GetThere have worked on how to best incorporate it into the business travel side of things. Sure, I won't use reviews in exactly the same way - I'll be more interested in WiFi reliability than the size of the pool - but I also like to know things like the “hotel gym” is really a broken down treadmill and yoga mat.  It’s also good to know that a Starbucks is on property, or that there’s a rail station around the corner.  Not all this info is easy to find skimming through traditional hotel descriptions, but it’s the type of valuable information I’ve gained from GetThere’s new hotel traveler reviews.

Hotel Traveler Reviews give business travelers a greater power of choice by offering comments from people they trust – fellow colleagues and travelers. Travelers can read reviews during the shopping process without ever leaving GetThere for a leisure review site. Corporate travel managers even have the option to utilize business-only reviews or integrate reviews from leisure travel agencies like Travelocity.

Our hotel traveler reviews are easy-to-use, fun and most importantly, interactive. As many leisure travelers do now after returning from a trip, we’ve made it easy for road warriors to rate their experiences at popular hotel properties within their corporation’s travel policy.

A survey conducted by comScore and the Kelsey Group found that 87 percent of review users cited hotel reviews as a key influencer when searching and booking travel. With such an overwhelming number of reviewers counting on hotel reviews each time they book, we knew it was the right time to include it into the business travel shopping and booking experience.

Stay tuned because we’re doing some work to make Hotel Traveler Reviews even better.  Have thoughts/questions/suggestions? Shoot me an email or post it on the blog.
